When you can customize
You can customize your QR code design in two ways:
- During creation: After setting up your landing page content and design, the QR Code tab is the final step
- After creation: Edit any existing QR code to update its design
How to access the QR Code tab
For a new QR code: Complete the Info, Build, and Design tabs, then click the QR Code tab.
For an existing QR code: Go to your Dashboard, select your QR code, click Edit, then click the QR Code tab.
Choose a template or customize
You will see preset templates. Pick one to apply a ready-made design.
For more control, click Customize QR Code below the templates. This reveals all customization options.
Using templates
Templates are pre-designed styles that apply patterns, colors, and marker shapes in one click. Select any template to see the result in the preview panel.
If you want to start from a template and then adjust specific details, select the template first, then click Customize QR Code to fine-tune.
Naming your design
Enter a Design Name to identify this QR code design. This is useful for:
- A/B testing: Create multiple designs for the same landing page
- Analytics tracking: Statistics are tracked separately for each design name
- Organization: Easily identify designs in your dashboard
All designs with different names point to the same landing page, but you can track which design performs better.
Customizing patterns and markers
Click Customize QR Code to access the Pattern & Marker section. It has three tabs:
Pattern
Controls how the QR code modules (data cells) are rendered. Options include Square (classic), Dots, Diamond, Rounded Bars, Fluid, and more. Browse the available patterns to find one that fits your style.
Marker Border
The outer frame shape of the three corner finder patterns. Options include square, rounded, circle, leaf, shield, and many variations.
Marker Eye
The inner shape at the center of each corner finder pattern. Options include square, circle, star, diamond, heart, flower, and more.
Select any combination. The preview updates as you make changes.
Customizing colors
The Color section has four tabs:
| Tab | What it colors |
|---|---|
| Background | The space behind the QR code |
| Foreground | The QR code modules themselves |
| Marker Border | The outer frame of corner markers |
| Marker Eye | The inner dot of corner markers |
Color types
For Background and Foreground, choose from:
| Type | Description |
|---|---|
| Solid | Single color |
| Linear gradient | Colors blend in a direction (to bottom, to right, diagonal) |
| Radial gradient | Colors radiate from a center point (25 preset positions) |
For Marker Border and Marker Eye, use the color picker to select a solid color.
Tips for readable QR codes
- Maintain high contrast between foreground and background
- Dark foreground on light background works best
- Avoid low-contrast combinations that may not scan
Adding a logo
Upload your logo to display it in the center of your QR code.
- In the Logo section, click Browse
- Select your image file
- Adjust Error correction if needed
Error correction levels
| Level | Description |
|---|---|
| Low | Minimal recovery, smaller logo area |
| Medium | Balanced recovery (default) |
| High | More recovery, larger logo possible |
| Highest | Maximum recovery, largest logo area |
Higher error correction lets a QR code recover more missing parts. This means you can cover more of it with a bigger logo without breaking the scan.
Adjusting the frame
The Frame section controls the border around your QR code.
- Margin %: Set the white space around the QR code (default: 5%)
- No Frame: Remove any border styling
More frame options are coming soon.
Saving your design
Click Save QR Code to save your changes.
To create another design for the same QR code, click Save & design another. This lets you create multiple designs for A/B testing.
Checking scannability
The preview panel shows a Scannable indicator. This confirms your design will scan correctly. If you see a warning, adjust your colors or reduce logo size.
Common questions
Can I have multiple designs for one QR code?
Yes. Use Save & design another to create multiple designs. Each design has its own name and analytics, but all point to the same landing page.
Will changing the design affect my printed QR codes?
Existing printed QR codes continue to work. If you want to use a new design, you need to download and print the updated version.
What file formats work for logos?
PNG, JPG, and SVG files work best. Use images with transparent backgrounds for best results.
How big should my logo be?
Start small and increase size while watching the Scannable indicator. Higher error correction allows larger logos.
