Choosing the right size
For digital use
- Social media posts: 640px or 960px
- Website embeds: 640px
- Email signatures: 320px or 640px
- Digital presentations: 960px or 1280px
For print
Match your size to your print dimensions at 300 DPI:
| Print size | Recommended download |
|---|---|
| 2.5 cm (1 in) | 320px or higher |
| 5 cm (2 in) | 640px or higher |
| 8 cm (3 in) | 960px or higher |
| 10 cm (4 in) | 1280px or higher |
| 16 cm (6 in) | 1920px |
When in doubt, download at 1920px. You can always scale down, but scaling up reduces quality.
Tips
- Download the largest size if you're unsure how you'll use it
- Test before bulk printing by scanning your downloaded file
- Keep your original in case you need different sizes later—you can always download again
Common questions
Can I download in formats other than PNG?
Currently, FreeQR exports as PNG only. PNG works well for both print and digital use.
Can I download the same QR code multiple times?
Yes. Return to your dashboard anytime to download your QR code again at any size.
Does downloading affect my QR code?
No. Downloading creates a copy of your QR code image. Your original QR code and its analytics remain unchanged.
