The Event template creates a landing page for promoting an upcoming event. It includes a description section, an image gallery, and a registration form.
What is included
When you select the Event template, your page opens with three pre-filled components:
| Component | Default title | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Content | Event Details | A text section for your event description |
| Image Gallery | Gallery | Photos for your event (venue, past events, speakers) |
| Form | Register | A registration form with name, email, and number of attendees |
You can edit, reorder, remove, or add more components to this page.
Getting started
Follow Steps 1-3 in How to create a dynamic QR code. Select Event from the template screen.
The editor opens with the three components listed above. Click on any component to expand and edit it.
Customize each component
Event Details (Content)
Replace the placeholder text with your event information. Include:
- Event name and date
- Time and location
- What attendees can expect
- Ticket or pricing information (if applicable)
You can add headings, images, and lists using the text editor. For detailed formatting options, see How to add a Content component.
Gallery (Image Gallery)
Upload photos related to your event. Good options include venue photos, speaker headshots, past event highlights, or promotional graphics.
Click Browse to upload images. For layout options (grid, staggered, carousel), see How to add an Image gallery.
Register (Form)
The default registration form includes three fields:
| Field | Type |
|---|---|
| Full Name | Text |
| Text | |
| Number of Attendees | Single choice (1-5, Other) |
You can add, remove, or change fields to match your needs. Responses are collected in your FreeQR dashboard. For configuration options, see How to add a Form.
What to add next
Depending on your event, you might want to add:
- Links for ticket purchases, venue directions, or event website
- Contact Details for the event organizer
- Videos for event trailers or speaker introductions
- Files for downloadable schedules, maps, or materials
Click Add Component at the bottom of the editor to add any of these.
Common questions
Can I remove the registration form?
Yes. Click the trash icon on the Form component. If you handle registration elsewhere, add a Links component with a button to your external registration page instead.
Can I add a schedule or agenda?
Yes. Add another Content component with your schedule formatted as a list, or use an Item List component for a structured agenda with times and descriptions.
How do I see who registered?
Go to your Dashboard, select your QR code, and check the form responses. Each submission includes the visitor's answers.
